Many are the sports activities which you will be able to practise; as for the “aficionados” of architecture and art you will be filled perfectly.

Indeed, this island is the ideal destination for the practice of the water sports. Many hotels lay out a nautic area, with possibilty to make or to initiate itself with the board, the windsurf, the jet ski,  the cayak, the water ski etc. The northern coast is favoured because it is exposed to the winds.

Moreover, the marine biotope is beautiful. Many are the diving clubs which propose initiation and formations. The diving in apnea and underwater hunting are also practised with a special licence.

For one strong day relaxation and feelings, go to one of the aquaparks of the island. The most interesting is the “Watercity” at the exit of Heraklion, in direction to Hersonnisos.

The “Cretaquarium” at the exit of Kokiniani is a pretty aquarium where large numbers of marine animal-life and flora species are represented.

The “Starbeach” ih Hersonnisos is a place of diversion where it is possible to practise karting, the jump with the rubber band, and other attractions much more insane.

Crete is also the paradise of the hikers and the riders. Many paths and ways overhang the sea and its superb coasts. Others, in the forest or in mountains will give access to you in still virgin and beautiful places. Trekkings of several days are also organized  in canyons.

For those who prefer the plays, Tavli is the jacquet play to which all the Greeks devote themselves. Nothing better to introduce yourself in one of the several coffee terraces.

Many religious festivals are also organized throughout the year. The most famous is the Easter with a solemn miss.

To finish the architecture is one of the richest of Greece. Palates from minos, orthodox churches , byzantine monasteries , and the old residences of the Othoman empire will fascinate you.
